SENTENCE :-
A Sentence is a group of words that makes complete sense is called sentence
Every sentence has main two parts .
1. Subject
2. Predicate
For Example
Rohan is a naughty boy
Rohan is a subject in the above sentence
is a naughty boy is a predicate in the given sentence
The little baby cried
The birds fly
The child drunk milk quickly
Note :- there must be a verb in the predicate
In a sentence , the subject usually comes first ,followed by the predicate
but at times it may be placed after the predicate as in
Ex:- On the top on the mountain, lived a saint.
KINDS OF SENTENCES
There are four kinds of sentences
1 Declarative sentence
2 Interrogative sentence
3 Imperative sentence
4 Exclamatory sentence
1. Declarative or Assertive Sentences
A sentence that states or says something is called a declarative or assertive sentence . it ends in a full stop .
Assertive sentence are of two types
(a) Affirmative sentence
(b). Negative sentence
Affirmative sentence
EX : - Najre is writing an article.
Negative sentence (NO , NONE ,NOT , NEVER , NO ONE etc are used to covert affirmative sentence into negative sentence )
Najre is not writing an article
How to change an affirmative sentence into negative sentence
Affirmative sentence Negative sentence
1.He is an honest man . 1. He is not an

2.There is water in 2.There is no

2. INTEEROGATIVE SENTENCE
Sentences that ask questions are called interrogative sentence
These sentences end with a quetion mark.(?)
Formation of interrogative sentences
We change the position of the subject and the verb so that the subject comes after the verb
AFFIRMATIVE TO INTERROGATIVE SENTENCES
1. There are some banana in the basket .
Are there some bananas in the basket ?
2. Alam sir is teaching English .
Is Alam sir teaching English ?
In case an asserrtive sentence does not have a helping verb , use do in the beginning of the question .
Ramesh stood first . Did Ramesh stand first ?
Mahtab dance well . Does Mita dance well?
NOTE : - THE HELPING VERB CHNGE ACCORDING TO PERRSON ,NUMBER OR TENSE

3. IMPERATIVE SENTENCE
Sentences that give orders , commands or advice ,or make requests are callled imperative sentences
an imperative sentences usually ends with a full stop .
EX :- Eat healthy food (advice )
Keep off the grass (command )
Please open the window. (request )
NOTE :- IN IMPERATIVE SENTENCES , THE SUBJECT YOU IS UNDERSTOOD
IN POLITYE REQUESTS , WE BEGIN WITH PLEASE FOLLOWED BY THE VERB

4. EXCLAMATORY SENTENCE
Sentences that express strong feelings are callled exclamatory sentences .
We use an exclamation mark(!) at the end of the sentences .
Hurrah!We have won the match (joy)
Alas! He is no more . (sorrow)
What a beautiful painting ! (surprise)
NOTE :- We use what or What a /an to form an exclamatory sentences.
we use what before a plural or an abstract noun .
